These are ginger cookies. There are enough spices in there that when the cookies are baking, the kitchen smells like mulled wine at Christmas.The little white bits that you can see on one or two are chips of crystallized ginger; additionally, they contain ground ginger, cinnamon, allspice, and cloves.
The bite was just to make sure they were good enough to photograph.

Between the bread and ginger cookies, I think I want to move to your house. Please post the both the cookie and fermented bread recipes, they sound (and look) great. Added bonus, since no one else at my house likes ginger cookies they'll be all mine!
