My daughter's on the couch, doing homework. Out of nowhere, she mentioned that she really likes her science text, and wishes she could have one for her own (this one goes back to the school at the end of the year). I told her that you can buy them, whereupon she perked right up. Really? So we searched. Used copies of that edition -- which are about 10 years old -- are selling for five bucks, plus shipping. So -- we sent a note to find out if one specific copy has writing in it; if not, she'll buy it for her own.
