Seee??? God, this is totally one of my raw nerves.
It's such a huge lie. It makes real women feel terribly inadequate. They even shopped out the scar below her belly button (where she probably had cosmetic surgery) and the ripple in her breast implant, because you know...breast implants usually do ripple over time.
The sad thing is that so many men will believe it's real and that we all should look that way at her age, which to me her "before" pic looks to be late thirties.
Have you seen that video of the woman being made up to appear on the billboard?
I don't want to believe that any reasonable guy would think that women who look perfect, down to the millimeter level, really do look that way. You're likely right -- I just don't want to believe it.
Reminds of a link my friend recently posted on FB. Its a professional retouching business, www.iwanexstudio.com , click on portfolio to see before and after shots, mostly celebs. It is so obvious why girls have self-esteem issues these days.
LC, here's the link to the video in question. It's known as the Dove Evolution video.
I am flattered by your comment, incidentally. I don't see myself as a 'real man' -- normal, perhaps. But I thank you.
And Shannon -- yes, I agree. I don't think about it a lot with my daughter, but I do think about it, and when the opportunity arises to slip in a casual comment - Gee, I wonder why some girls seem to think they have to be fake to be attractive - I do it.
Well, perhaps you can inveigle them to glance at that Dove video... its short and makes a good point. I showed it to my daughter. She didn't say much but she remembered it.

I haven't seen that video, but I can imagine.
There are a lot of unreasonable guys out there, Bill. Not enough real men like you.

Thank you for that link, Bill. I agree with it. That's so disturbing.
And you are welcome :)
