I was once at a computer center which was going to do a test of the Halon discharge system, a fire suppressant. We were told that Halon was not harmful to breathe, but we stayed outside the test area. Afterwards, we learned that Halon truly was not harmful to breathe. All it did was completely block any oxygen.
