I wonder if somewhere an English major -- better yet, an English Lit doctoral candidate -- has written an analysis of the Waldo mythos as a metaphor for societal angst and generalized personal displacement within the maelstorm of society? (I couldn't think of any more remotely relevant big words.)

The more big words you add the more it sounds like it is a feasible scholarly topic. It is all about the jargon hah.
