Note

My mother always liked to say that she didn't want to be a bother. Today, we were to meet with hospice staff, make arrangements for the delivery of a hospital bed, move the furniture in her living room to make space for it, all of that. But my mother doesn't like being a bother.

She died this morning at 7AM.

Thank you. The nurses all said that she was a sweet lady, and she really was. I'll miss her.

Well, you were somewhat prepared for this and perhaps your mother had an excellent sense of timing in not wanting to be a bother. You would grieve regardless. I am sorry that you have to face this time which we all face sooner or later.

I appreciate these sentiments. They mean a lot to me.

I think the eeriest thing is that her life insurance policy said that once she turned 85, she wouldn't have to pay any more premiums. Timing is everything.

Thank you very much. I appreciate that.

I'm so very sorry, Bill! It's so difficult to watch our parents not only age, but pass on too. I know by now you've gone through all the events that followed her death, but I still want to wish you much comfort during this time!
