From the Washington Post web site:
The U.S. government has argued in a pending court case that its authority to protect the country's border extends to looking at information stored in electronic devices such as laptops without any suspicion of a crime.
Oh, really?

Ruhroh! I knew they were watching me!
Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they aren't after me. : )
Oh, no, your government would NEVER act that way, Shannon. Incidentally (and this is just routine), I need your bra size, favorite cereal, social security number, date of birth, and location of any freckles on your personal body. Its just routine, as I say, and you can choose not to tell me, but if you do, I'll have to ask you to report to Guantanamo Customer Service.
Hmm seems sort of suspicious, but if you say its routine.
Do you have that number for Guantanamo? heh
Cuba's country code is 53, and Gitmo is 99. Just dial 011 53 99 AYUDAME, and they'll help you right out. You can trust me on this; I'm from the gummint.
