Brittle Bark

A local candy maker -- I didn't even know we had a local candy maker -- is having their goods featured on the Rachel Ray program, which is, of course, a very big deal. The company's name is Brittle Bark, and this is their website.

Here's a sample of part of what they sell, on site and via mail order:

Berry Au Lait — Blueberries and hazelnuts with a splash of rich coffee topped with dark chocolate and dusted with cinnamon.
Cherries Jubilee — No nuts! - just large Bing cherries and brittle, drizzled with premium dark chocolate.
Cherry Pecan Tart — Tart Michigan cherries mixed with roasted pecan halves and all immersed in crispy brittle.
Just Cashews — Cashew lovers get ready! Jumbo whole cashews loaded into crispy brittle won’t last long!
Just Peanuts — Like NO OTHER you’ve tried! Extra thin and crispy brittle made with whole roasted peanuts.
Luau — Large macadamia nuts, chunks of pineapple, and large flakes of coconut make this tropical brittle a blissful treat!
Mocha Peanut — Rich dark roast coffee flavors the creamy brittle before we add jumbo peanuts for a one-of-a-kind peanut brittle variety. It's then topped with drizzled dark chocolate and scattered with crushed coffee beans.
Nutty Chai — Jumbo cashews and large coconut flakes fill this creamy brittle that is made with Chai tea.
Oh Nuts! — Packed with whole almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, and a few peanuts tossed in and then poured thin for a real treat—any time!
Pistachio Twist — Wole pistachios is creamy brittle made with a twist of lemon
Raspberry Dream — Rich dark chocolate drizzled over plump red raspberries mixed with thin crispy brittle.
Spring Fling — A medley of tart cherries, blue berries, strawberries and raspberries tossed with slivered almonds welcomes in the spring season.

How EXCITING is that? I love it when the underdog gets the spotlight.

Yeah, I think its pretty awesome. I like that its a small company. My wife said that she hopes the attention doesn't destroy the culture - you know, let's bring in outside consultants who can build on this to GROW the business. Ugh, just the thought makes me nauseous....
