LudDud

I saw The Bourne Ultimation the other day, and liked it, so when I was at the libe today, I picked up another Ludlum novel. About thirty pages into it, I came across a fellow described as brilliant, striking, wealthy beyond belief, and director of a massive foundation doing fabulous acts of good throughout the world. The Gates Foundation, on steroids. To use the old phrase, what God would have done if He'd had the money.

Immediately, knowing Ludlum, I knew who the bad guy would turn out to be. And so it was. Not to say that the writing wasn't excellent. Not to say there weren't surprises. But the identity of TBG wasn't, alas, one of them.

One of these days, it really will be the butler who did the dirty deed.
