We tend to accept that cultural diversity is a good thing, to the point that arguing against it, or even presenting evidence that it might not be 
that good a thing, is widely considered to be politically incorrect.  This Boston.Com 
article, describing research done by the fellow who published Bowling Alone a few years ago, says that despite those feelings, diversity is not the unalloyed benefit that we tend to think it is.  Not a 
bad thing; just not necessarily a 
good thing.
