I'm sitting here, looking occasionally at the clock -- 92 minutes to go -- and thinking 'Could be worse' -- because in the other room, my wife is listening to a teleconference with about 24 other system programmers on the line, trying to get a massive computer system back up. It apparently cratered around 8:30 this morning, knocking out dozens of customers just as they were starting their day. From what I'm gathering, they have no clue as to what it was that did the deed -- and right now, they can't afford to take the time to go and look, because getting the customer back is always the first priority. But when its over, there'll be weeping and wailing to put to shame anything I might do after the surgery.
So, it could be worse.
