Is it shallow of me to resent having to take my mother to medical appointments? Not so much taking her, as taking her frequently, or taking her to one thats half an hour away, or having to listen to her hack and sneeze vigorously on the way. I just hate that.
I think its because it makes me think about being old, and feeble, and reliant on others. And subservient to the whims of medical practicioners and their staffs. And I really, really hate that idea.

And when you're old and feeble, and need to rely on someone .. perhaps your daughter will be like you, and suck it up just for the chance to repay her dad in a small way for all you've put into her. And that, my friend, is the circle of life. :)
Then I guess I'd better hope that my daughter is a better, more giving person than I am.
You're already proving you're a caring person as well. We all have our moments when inconvenience makes us grumble .. but deep down, I'm sure you're happy it's YOU helping her instead of some stranger.
You're a good person .. even if you deny it. ;)
I'm okay, nothing special. It amazes me, just amazes me, how other people can bond with their families. Caring, loving, all of that. I find that hard to do for anyone but my wife and daughter. Not sure why.
