Margins

I'm looking at the map of Indiana. It looks like Clinton, who has 54% of the vote, won in (just eyeballing this) about 90% of the counties that have voted; Obama, with 45%, has the other 10%. I really want Obama to win here, but it doesn't look like he will. But here's my question: why does it feel unfair for him to get 45% because he did well in specific, high-density spots, and poorly in most other places?

I know: thats the whole Red/Blue thing all over again. But still: why?
