Rainy

It's a rainy, hazy day here. Overall, things are not going particularly smoothly. This laptop abruptly lost the ability to talk to a networked printer -- the 'sharing' tab on that printer somehow went back to 'like_HELL_will_I_allow_access". (Particularly nice sidenote: I found the problem trying to print from Notepad, which simply popped up a terse 'Access is denied' note. How terribly helpful.) System Restore on the laptop stopped working -- to be fair, it stopped a week or so ago, but it didn't become a problem problem until today, when I needed it. I don't actually know if its working now -- I did the 'disable/restart/enable' trick. You know how when you hurt yourself, and you're reluctant to see if it still hurts? Thats me. At the moment, I don't think I could take it if SR didn't work, because I'd feel compelled to try to fix it, though I'm clueless as to why it stopped working. And every so often, the damn screen for Blogger flickers and repaints. I wish there was an alternative to the Performancing tool (which I think they renamed) as a client-side app to feed Blogger. I had a hard time warming up to that; not sure why. At the moment, its starting to look good.

Most wonderfully, my daughter is seriously pissed at me, with a certain amount of justification. Not totally, but some. She'll get over it, I'll get over it, but... possibly not for a while.
