I'm a reasonable person (by my standards), but there are times I don't particularly want to be.
This evening, we were at Wegmans, the supermarket superstore in our area. I found that they had the KitchenAid hand mixer that I've been contemplating getting, and they had it for the lowest price that I've seen anywhere. I came this close to getting it. And then I thought 'You've been concerned with how much money you've been spending recently. You have a stand mixer which satisfies 98% of your mixing needs. Do you really need this?'
We didn't get it.
Sometimes, being reasonable isn't all that much fun, you know?

Yes sometimes being reasonable is hard. I really really want a motorcycle, but there is actually no real good economical or rational reason to get it besides the fact I really want to ride.
So I made the decision to start saving for one and buy one after college. Being patient is also very hard.
You know there's been a sea change in attitudes when a man wants a new kitchen mixer, and a woman wants a new motorcycle.
Do you have one in mind?
Haha I didn't even think of that! Maybe a product of my generation that I wouldn't notice stuff like that.
A friend of mine has a Honda Shadow Spirit. So more of cruiser bike in between being a large Harley and those little "crotch rockets" as I've heard them so referred to as hah.
I was driving my daughter back from somewhere the other day when we saw a guy riding a motorcycle so small that his knees appeared to be up around his shoulders. Made a crotch rocket look ungainly.
