The local college is having two events of interest, but I only get to go to one.
The one where Barack and Hillary hang out, schmooze, and generally act like involved, responsible adults is only open to students, faculty, and superdelegates. Well, maybe not the last, but you never know. But not me. Just as well. We're talking a pretty small school. If this had been open to the public, the traffic situation would have overwhelmed their small but valiant police force in about fourteen microseconds.
The one where they'll take me is the annual book sale, which started two days ago. This is a Big Deal to the local community, which has been known to thunder down the stairs, grabbing books as they go. I almost wrote 'grabbing boobs as they go', but this is a Christian school, so they don't do (much of) that kind of stuff. The sale brings in a healthy chunk of change for them, from what I gather. By the third day, there's still a lot of books, but also lots of 'yet another copy of ' whatever the book d'jour was, last year. And you can tell when people dumped their collection of Tom Clancy novels, or Danielle Steel. Not to say thats all thats there -- lots of books about religion, and philosophy, and even the occasional what the hell is this?, such as the manual that I found (and left) for DOS version 2. How many years has that been in someone's basement, or holding up the corner of a desk?
So I got two books. I figure, long drive coming - I'm going to need it.

Dude! The book sale is a much better ticket! You hit the jackpot. I'd rather go to a booksale anyday.
But then you know me...love books, hate the politicians ;-)
I did NOT need more reasons to think highly of you, LC.... but now, I have some. Cool!
