We're seeing a lot of cardinals this year.
Yesterday, we were at the dining room table when I noticed a female cardinal at the top of a tree, and near the lowest branch, a male. The male was slowly ascending, one branch at a time. When he got about two thirds of the way up, the female flew off -- and then so did he. Last night, both of them alit on our deck railing and just sat there for about five minutes before taking off again. This afternoon, I saw a male while I was out for a walk. No females in sight, though.
Pretty neat.

Where are the pictures, Mr.I bought a nice camera?
It will probable be a booming year for that species next year. ...or maybe the weather will be getting harsher. Nature tries to compensate when it can.
Camera? Oh, yeah, we do have one of those...somewhere...
