Probably Not

It's probably not the fault of either the Bushman or the President of Cheneystan when every single stupid thing happens in the federal government. But some things do seem to have their greasy fingerprints all over them. This kind of thing happens so often lately that I think I'm going to have to forcibly limit myself from talking about them. It's really getting old... in more than one way.

Impeach. Now. One at a time or all at once. Impeach.

Ugh, just ugh. How can this administration vilify certain other countries for not having democracy like we do, while at the very same time doing everything they possibly can to turn this country into a one party system and subvert the laws of their own country. How do they tell themselves this is the American way? They think they answer to no one and so far, they're right :/

I just really don't understand how they are allowed to do this, I really don't.

If I had to bet, it would be because of the confluence of two things:

first, the supporters of the president see more benefit to them as supporters than as opposers. Supporting, they're a group with power; opposing, they're either individuals with less power or allied with the Democrats, supporting a broad platform with which they do not substantially agree; neither is an appealing prospect. Allied to that is that some number of them think he's right, or at least not definitely wrong.

second, the president honestly thinks (either he or one of the people he trusts to think for him) that what he's doing is the best way to keep the country safe. I never doubt Bush's sincerity. I frequently doubt his intelligence, foresight, and insight, but never his resolve.

So long as there are people in Congress who see more value in supporting him than not, this will continue.
