Now, here's a twist on discrimination that gave me pause.
A school in Australia allowed some girls to wear a hijab, which is a sort of scarf that they wear for religious reasons -- but then, in the class photographs, they airbrushed the hijab out. The feeling is that this is discrimination against them.
I think that perception is correct. Its not as bad as telling them that they couldn't wear it -- which apparently the same school did to one other girl -- but its saying that there is something wrong in wearing it. I think they ought to apologise to the girls.
