I found a comment to one of my posts saying that the author liked what they saw, and would continue to read. I replied, pleased, but thought, after a bit, that some of the phrasing was a little -- general. So I picked part of the reply - " I recently came accross your blog and have been reading along. " - and Googled it.

So, is this a crawler? Or is it someone who is looking for an ad placement or customer or link back to a commercial blog?
It doesn't seem to have malicious or commercial intent -- the sites that it says it 'comes from' are real sites which seem honest. I think someone just wrote a bot to comment on a ton of sites, to see if they could.
But next time.....
This "Conrad" guy...those sites are not "blog" sites in the tradional sense, I checked some of them out. They have content, of a sort, and the only reason they exist is to register hits for advertisers.
Smart idea actually. Could be much less benign. Too much of this stuff might act like chain letters, and cause the blogger equivalent of mail box stuffing.
Or maybe not. Seems harmless enough for now though.
