Is this a good choice or a bad choice? I use IE right now but at school I have used firefox only not enough to really get to know it. What would be the benifits to changing browsers like this?
Dh and I were just talking about whether there was an upgrade to Windows XP yet since it seems all the other operating systems upgraded very quickly. Apparently not. But I do find your tidbit of news interesting. I use IE and never have tried Firefox but so many people swear by it. Now if Microsoft comes out with it. Hmmm!
I think that Firefox is at least as good as IE, and no money goes to Microsoft as a result. In my experience, FF has more options for customization. Most of them are fascinating only to geeks and power users, but many aren't bad at all.
I think it'll be a good long time till I get Vista, given the system requirements that I've heard tossed about.
Thank's for the info Bill, I wish I had more time to do the truly Techy stuff. It seem really cool.
Rach-XP was the best thing that happened to my pc in a long time. I dealt with the windows Millenium edition for as long as I could stand it and that was too long, All the crashing and poor use of memory allocation. grrrr it sucked!
I agree with you Sweet. I never used Millenium, as we went from 98 to XP and XP rocks. My sister has Millenium and has nothing but problems.
Bill, I'm so not a geek, so I doubt personalizing would be something I could do. I guess I'll continue with IE until someone can show me (come into my home and physically show me)how it can better improve my life.
Download of Firefox is pretty quick, and straightforward. (Google turns up this address for me; not sure if you'd get a different one -- http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/)
You can install it without affecting IE, so if you want to just have it to play around, thats possible. If you do try it, let me know and I can give you some guidance on how to mess around. Sorry, I don't think I can make it to your island, though....
