And in my experience the ice cubes from the ice makers tend to taste funny after awhile. Never been a huge fan of the automatic ice cube maker besides the fact it is convenient.
I doubt that anyone will ever get recognized for improving the ice maker so that it operates quietly, but it'd be an improvement nonetheless.
As for the funny taste, the manual noted that ice cubes that have been there a while tend to pick up an off odor. Makes you wonder why the ones in the trays don't.
I can't joke about this, though, because my wife wanted the ice maker, and she's a little sensititve to the idea that its not as good as we'd thought it would be.
