From an article about a woman who was sued by her apartment's owner due to a comment she made about the apartment:
"We're a sue first, ask questions later kind of an organization," Jeffrey Michael told the newspaper.
Oh, charming. Bet that's in all their ads, too.

Hey Bill, I just wanted to answer your question regarding the sod removal -
With that particular project, I simply used a shovel. The area was not too big and it just seemed like the best (and cheapest) decision.
For the front yard, the grass was not well rooted and barely in existence and therefore we just used the backhoe when leveling it and it came right out/off.
In the past, I have used the sod remover for a larger flower bed and it was WONDERFUL...well worth the rental fees. It got up most of the grass, which we then just rolled and transported elsewhere. We did rototill (sp?) the area afterwards and picked out the little bit of grass that was left. From time to time, I still have to get out the weed/grass killer but it is really no big deal.
Hope this answers your question.
It certainly does. We are thinking of applying our shaky skills to building a patio, and we're wondering about renting the rototiller. This is OLD grass, thirty five years or so. I must admit, I'm a little stunned by the looks of the tiller, but I can imagine that it does a job quickly that would take me weeks, if I finished it at all.
