Despite my harangue yesterday, I don't like to complain. It really doesn't do any good, and it tends to remind you of irritations that you'd forgotten.
So, let me just say that if you have an elderly person in residence, and you're having significant work done on a toilet, move them -- someone's home, a hotel, someplace. You'll be happier. It'll be marginally more expensive, given the cost of the project, and the increase in tranquility will more than pay for it.
Also, if you happen to get a note from someone who has a tendency to be self-absorbed and snarky, and they say something nice, accept it. Don't reply. Because if you do, there's a chance -- in the current sample, approaching 100% -- that they'll clarify it to indicate that they didn't mean what you thought they meant. Its better not to know. Think of it as 'if you could gain a deeper understanding of how Bush thinks, would that be a good thing?'
On the bright side, it's time for breakfast.
