My daughter likes country songs. Yesterday, on the way to the mall so that we could get her new sneakers (No, we're not getting high heels too....no, we're not getting Uggs, too.....no, we're not getting Crocs, too... yes, fine, you can get a bagel), she started singing along to one on the radio. Titled, I'm not sure, something like "You Can Let Go, Daddy".
The first verses were the kid learning to ride a bike.
The second were the kid being given away in marriage.
The third were the kid getting to the hospital bed and being told 'he's been hanging on, waiting for you'.
What an incredibly depressing song.
