Putting the NO in Technology

I just read a funny article in the New York Times about a fellow's battles with high technology - superhuge TV, cable, converter, dihydric plasma transference coil array. I don't need reasons not to upgrade what we have -- my inherent cheapness does quite nicely, thank you very much. But if I did? The article lists it, in spades.
