Netflux

We're not dumping Netflix, but we're going to back down a skosh.

Instead of getting 3 movies at a time, we'll choose the option that gets us one at a time, as many times per month that we want. (Though, given that Netflix tracks these things, I'll bet sending it back the very next day, every time, gets you bumped down their priority list.) The one at a time, unlimited number per month plan is half the cost of the 3 at a time, unlimited per month that we have now, and twice the cost of the cheapest, which is one at a time, max of two per month. We're looking to save a little money, so this will work.

Truth to tell, the Netflix is really just for me, and I tend to take a while to get around to watching what arrives -- The Golden Compass has been sitting on the player -- on, not in -- downstairs, for about two weeks -- so its not a big deal to back down. We'll see how it goes.

Which reminds me: one of these days, I want to find out what it takes to stream video from the PC to the TV, just in case that disc player dies on us.

That's another thing I have never explored. I think I just don't watch enough TV or movies or something. Although I'm sure if there were two other people living here with me, the tv would be on more. Or at least on something other than the Home & Garden channel.

I don't think there is anything wrong with not watching a lot of TV. Most of its mindless junque anyway. Not that that stops me once the eerie flickering blue light bathes the room....well, I'll just watch for a while to see if something good comes on....

Definitely nothing worthwhile on, especially last night when I couldn't sleep. There are a few shows that I do let Tivo catch and save for me, but this summer I'm really watching very little TV. I miss The Sopranos :-(

I'd love to have TiVo. I'm just too cheap to do it. I tell myself its because there's nothing on, and thats true... but thats not the reason. Same logic applies to why we have a television thats about 24 years old.
