Dinner

Here's what we had for dinner. We thought we'd like it, but as it turned out, we really liked it. Kind of like voting for Obama (sorry, S!). The original recipe was found on Chop Stir Mix. I modded it just a bit....

Stroganoff with Meat Balls

MEAT BALLS
2 lbs ground beef
1 1/2 cups bread crumbs
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in large bowl.
Mix well and roll into golf-ball sized meatballs
Place on edged cookie sheet and bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes.
Remove from oven, drain and set aside.

SAUCE
1/2 cup chopped onion
4 Tbsp butter
3 Tbsp flour
2 Tbsp ketchup
1 14 oz can beef broth (undiluted)
1 cup sour cream

Brown onion in butter, add flour, mix well.
Add ketchup and broth cooking slowly until thickened.
Add sour cream, then meat balls.
Place in casserole and heat in 300 degree oven until serving time.

I'm such a knucklehead. Without reading your headline, I read the recipe and thought "Mmm. That sounds like a nice stroganoff recipe".

Just testing my commenting ability here, as I finally gave in and activated a google/blogger account.

We have a different recipe (not the 'classic', either) that we like, which uses cream of chicken soup. This one was someone lighter, and we realized that it would work with just the sauce over rice. Good stuff.
