So I made the dough. Ooh, looks good. Hacked off a chunk, rolled out the strands, braided it. (I learned how to braid in college. Really.) Um...pretty good, though I missed a crossover. Washed it with egg wash. Heated up the oven. Comes the moment of insertion.
And it sticks to the peel. This would be my moderately expensive Superpeel that can handle any kind of wet dough. Apparently, not any kind.
Arghle graghle fimit.
Scrape it off, flour the hell out of it, roll it out, strand it, braid it (got all the crossovers), reheat the oven, take the cloth off the peel, coat the bare wood with cornmeal, put the dough on the coated peel, slide the damn thing into the oven, slam the door, set the timer. Oh, and wash the cloth.
You know, I think it actually looks better, second time around.
