When our daughter was younger, we did the usual warnings of whom to trust, and whom not to; I even added, as she got older, the bit about 'if you're with someone you trust, but they make you feel funny, and it bothers you, tell someone else that you trust -even if the person who makes you feel odd is me, tell someone'. Which made me feel odd, I can tell you.
This afternoon, I brought a girl back to her house after she stayed overnight with my daughter. It was just me and her going back, but she got into the second row of the van. It brought to mind that another time, when I'd brought a different girl home by herself, she sat in the second row.
Wonder if someone's teaching that as a defensive technique?
