I was goofing off downstairs, flipping through channels, and thinking man, with this many channels, you could be here for days....you really need some kind of 'content manager' so you can say 'this is the kind of thing I like, tell me when some becomes available'.
And then I thought Bill, what the hell do you think Tivo is?
Oh. Yeah.
Still think it needs a 'remember this channel' function, though.

Comcast allows you to organize your channels by favorites. I have the categories...Weather, News, and Tabor's Favorites. Then I just have to scroll through those. Maybe your supplier also has this service?
it is to distracting for me, I go to watch one thing and on the way there find something more interesting. Gahhhhh, it makes me crazy. So I go to the discovery or history channel and end it.
Nowadays, I have to just shut it off. Too much bad news, it's friggen depressing.
...Which is why it also needs a 'forget this channel for a while' function.
Tivo doesn't do that categorization. Sounds like a good idea, though. Personally, I'm thinking that a link from Tivo to a pc, delivering channel info, would also help.
Which makes me wonder: are the Tivo people just sitting on their model, or improving it? Bet the former. After all, it got them this far.
