Doctor, Doctor
I see where major corporations are starting to think that on-site medical practices are a good idea, again. The 'practices' are more like 'practicettes', as a rule; with a small staff, treating minor injuries, but doing a bit more, too, such as followup on medical treatments given elsewhere, recurring checkups and workups for chronic diseases, and participation in wellness-enhancement plans. The motivation, as in so much of corporate america, is financial; it costs less to prevent than to treat; less to do it on site than off site; less to do it with your own employee than a contractor. There's much to like about the idea, and, despite some queasiness about the privacy issue, I do.
