Tell me again why barbaric execution of vile criminals is no longer practiced in civilized countries. I'm thinking heads-on-pikes would be a good thing.

I know that what I said has a very Neanderthal air. And if you know me, you know that I didn't really mean it -- and didnt really not. I put up the additional post because I wanted to be reminded that just because these people came from that country -- and I guess that's still up for debate, although it's plausible -- that doesn't mean that they are representative of the country, or of the people who live there. Like the classic American, I want to think that of course they like us. It's just a few bad apples -- in this case, lethally bad apples. I don't think you can characterize an entire country that way, though it does make life easier to be able to do so.
But if these people really did want to do what I'm given to understand they wanted to do, then they are not only murderers; they are mass murderers and more. At that point, the current Anglo-Saxon legal system seems to break down in terms of punishment and reprisal. That's when thoughts of medieval reprisal come to mind.

See, you're a better person then me. I tend to lump all those countries into one category and wonder why they're out to attack the US all the time. I suppose wars are going on over there that I choose to not be informed about because quite frankly, if it doesn't affect me, then I have to many other things to fill my small brain with. It just always seems that the terrorists are working for Al Qaida (sp?), which leads me back to my other comment about the brain washing.

Truth to tell, I *want* to lump them all together. Maybe thats a better answer. Rationality sure doesn't seem to hack it.
