One Good Cop

I kept waiting for this to go south, but it never does. Got to wonder what it'd be like with a different cop, or the same cop on a bad day...

I feel you were looking at a picture or something else I can't see as I seem to be missing part of the information.

The first few words of my sentence contain a hyperlink to a video.

You will notice that the cop did NOT turn his back on the suspect, and DID call for backup. Also worked VERY hard to establish a relationship, a rapport with the suspect and still stayed in charge. And almost as an afterthought, he identified himself AS a policeman but only at the very end.

I still don't know why the policeman got involved but I can see that based on 22 years experience in the marine corps that he certainly knew how to pick his fights. And this one was a fight he could not win, so he made the best of it.

Oh I see, upon re-watching, the policeman was responding to a complaint from the public that an armed individual was just walking down the street. Making people nervous.
In Canada, he would have been taken into custody for scaring the general public. I think yours is a healthier attitude.

Only when the individual is sober and in control of himself. We also let -- in at least one state -- people with weapons to hang out in bars.

I recently saw a video similar but with a different cop. That video made you realize some people are too hot tempered to be one, and in my opinion there are too many cops like that on police forces across the USA.

I think that cops get burned out. I also think there are people who like wearing the badge too much -- but I want to beleive that they're in the minority.
