Daughter was in a snarky mood tonight, so we decided a) to go out to Starbucks and b) to do so, alone.
While we were there, the daughter called to say that since several girls will be sleeping over at the house tomorrow, it would be good to pick up a bunch of ice cream.

Well, its kind of a good news/bad news thing. Good news, she's being supportive of the structure of color guard, bonding with the younger girls, etc. Bad news, she's not being advanced to the more difficult things - rifle and saber - though she's been practicing. She is moderately distraught about this, and, I think, justifiably so.
