Got a note from the guy who was the coordinator for this summer's exchange student program. He said that she rode in his car on the way back to the airport, and 'had nothing but nice things to say' about us.
I'm thinking that probably means she was very quiet, and said one or two nice things about her stay when prompted. Since we really haven't heard anything from her since her departure, it was pleasant to learn that she had an okay time.

I am completely lost (since I have been gone so long). Is that a photo of your daughter? And as she returned from visiting a different family she said nice things about her own?
Or, and this is what I am thinking it is, is that a photo of an exchange student who stayed with you and, when prompted, said nice things about you?
I'm sure she appreciated the meats and cheeses being in a roomier drawer, and many many other things about you all.
Oh! And Butterduck is my beloved ceramic duck who used to hold my butter ... but currently just sits out on my cupboard. I have an unreasonable love for my ceramic butterduck. He was lost for an entire YEAR and I just found him in a box when I unpacked after moving here. The rejoicing! You should have seen it. I was so frikkin' happy to find him. I LOVE that duck.
I was toying with the idea of making my blog title about things that I love ... like my son (who for anonymity I have renamed Basil) and my ceramic duck, among others. I'm looking for a more clever name for my blog. I'm feeling boring lately. lol. Well ... I'm feeling adventurous, actually, but some of what's currently adventurous about my life I can't report on my blog. LOL. Families read it.
Good to see you. xoxoox
I love your blog.
She's the exchange student. We were disappointed to find that this did not mean they would take our daughter, and we get to keep this one. Ah, well.
