I realized that I'm more concerned about what I eat after this surgery than the surgery itself. I don't want to find that the damn graft has shifted because I bit into something that I thought was safe to eat. I've been looking around for what are considered acceptable foods, and this is what I've found:
Yoghurt
Pudding
Custard
Soft bread, without crust
Pancake
Pasta
Noodles
Meatloaf
Tuna salad
Soup
Applesauce
Fruit juices
Ice cream without nuts
Jello
Cold cereal
Mac and Cheese
Broth
oatmeal
baby food desserts
rice pudding
I pared away the things that I really don't like!

Other softies:
Rice (unless you're an al dente kind of guy)
Chicken salad
Many soups
Meatloaf or Hamburger, especially if you cut them up -- or you could just brown the meat and eat it
Cheese
Pot pie (but watch the crust)
Mashed or baked potatoes (sans skins)
most any steamed veggie
Banana
Baked beans
Lots of different beans are soft, too
Frozen Yogurt
Peanut butter on soft bread (sans crust)
Scrambled Eggs (or a scrambled omlet!)
Uhm... You could make chicken salad as easily as tuna salad. They also have the different flavored tuna packs now, to mix things up.
Glad to see you back at it. How long do they think it will take to heal?
Grits-- with just a little butter
You could also make your favorite soft cake and bake it in muffin cups instead of the cake pan... these make a divine breakfast and you could leave out the nuts and rasins if you're afraid of chomping down on them. Plus, it's cake for breakfast, and Bill Cosby would approve.
