I was at the breakfast table the other morning when, apropos of something my daughter'd said, I looked at her and asked "Do you have a flag?" She looked up from her book. Yes, she said carefully, I do. (Color guard uses flags.) Do you? I shook my head. Then you can't have a country, she said with satisfaction. But its okay, you can use ours. Of course, she said, after a moment, you'll have to pay taxes!
