Sociable Studies

I'm not sure what to do about my mentee. I don't think its my job to round out his knowledge of social studies, no matter how much he doesn't bond with his teacher; I'm not qualified to do that. But if I don't talk with him about it, he's not going to get any feedback or encouragement on it. When we talked about it the last time, he told me that they hadn't done anything in the textbook yet, and when I asked the teacher for some idea of what they were doing, I got no response.
