Tomorrow is my daughter's last day in high school. Tonight she came home, turned on her laptop, and exclaimed All of my stuff is gone!
I did a System Restore, which said it failed and did nothing.... and her stuff was back.
Personally, I think it was an attempt at suicide by the computer.

Possibly a hint that she needs a new computer for college. Her computer doesn't want to leave home!
Oh, she's already picked one. She's getting -- we're getting for her -- a Fujitsu Lifebook with a flip screep that converts it to a tablet format. And she'd like to have it right now, thank you very much.
