Star Trek

So, how did Nemo get the rest of the crew to go along with the idea that using their mining ship to go bouncing around, destroying planets, would be a good idea? How did he even get a ship that was so awesome, it could successfully take on a whole series of Starfleet's finest? Falling only to the indomitable spirit of James T. Kirk ...(Spock: "The likelihood of success is less than four percent..."... Kirk: " Spock, it'll work.") doing hand-to-hand inside their ship and Spock, driving the Eggbeater Express, doing damage from the outside? And why did the Romulans build it (Kirk:"One ship, one massive ship") so big, anyway? Interior looked like a subterranean cave that had evolved rather than something that'd been built - why was that? Why did people get around jumping from platform to platform -- stairs go out of style or something?

And what is 'red matter', anyway?

Just wondering....
