I recall when Amazon started, and when they started to branch out from just books. I thought at the time 'Well, that won't go anywhere.' Wonder if Borders and the others thought the same thing?
We're looking at a Kindle (and other ereaders). We'll likely get it. But I've heard two things I've heard about it that I don't like, and both speak to the Amazon style -- that Amazon effectively controls what you put on there; they can and have deleted something the buy has legally acquired. And that if you go through it to the Amazon Kindle store, the default click-action is to say Yes to 'do you want to buy this item' -- with no 'are you sure'. You twitch, you bought it.
I want to say that both are too manipulative for me, too controlling...But Amazon makes it so damn easy to buy....

I'm with you. But it's so nice to go on amazon and find what you're looking for from the comfort of your couch.
