I don't know if you have ever heard of Jamie Oliver. He is a chef with a mission...and that mission is to clean up bad lunches in the schools. He had a TED talk last week, where he held up a chart indicating the things which kill Americans. On the very bottom of the list was homocide. Way down, even in violence prone America! Everything else was more important, and the number one killer of Americans was bad diet. Considering how much print the "gun issue" gets, it really is not all that important....were all guns to suddenly vanish from the streets of America, it would still affect less than one quarter of one percent of the population.
Its not the kids with guns I worry about. Its the idiots. It only takes one....and then the NRA gets to trot out there 'We're sorry, but of course this is in no way our fault' song. Again.
Course, then there's, I think, Kentucky, which recently said it was perfectly okay to bring guns into bars. Oh, THERES a combination unlikely to cause a problem.

This is a problem?
Probably not as much as I think. But then again, it only takes one bullet....

So teaching kids about guns might help. But it isn't really much of an problem, really.
