A few moments ago, I was all wet.... it was a good thing.
My wife and I engineered me into the shower, and I actually took one. Very slowly, very carefull, with water splashing onto the floor of the bathroom because I had the shower door open, with half of the walker inside. But I did it. And then it took five minutes to get me out, so that I could sit to dry off.
We've said for some time that if we build a house, there will be non-medical-looking grab bars around the john, but this makes us aware that we would have to do more than that. Barrierless shower, certainly. Towel bar that is suitable as a grab-bar, certainly. Skid-resistant flooring, not carpet, absolutely. Wide enough for a walker to turn around without ever having to let go of a grab bar on one side or the other, you bet. I'm sure there's more.
But being clean is really cool.

I hear you. I had a foot injury once that kept me out of the shower for a while. Then I had to shower while keeping my foot outside the splashy area. Then I progressed to the big plastic bag option. Ahhh, the memories.
