Ours do the same thing. One likes to grab at pillows and then can't release herself. I've sometimes found her dragging a pillow across the bed; she then jumps down and that releases the pillow. Which now makes a nice cushion on the floor. Hmm... Perhaps it's not accidental? :-)
Our back door has two side screens; they're the height of the door, and are in front of glass door panels. Makes a nice bright entry. And the screens make a good place for a cat to just hang around. Half way up the door.
(By the way, they do shred screens. They figure out that the screen is pretty decent replacement for a tree, and that's the end of the screen.)
Yeah, we've found her halfway up the screen out to the deck twice. Now we keep that door mostly closed -- she can get a paw to it, but not her head.
Doesn't help with the window screens, though. I expect to find a gaping hole one day, to be followed by a trip to the vet for declawing -- assuming we find her again.

Our cat did that, too, before we had her claws lasered. :)
I think that if it happens again, I'm going to push for the idea. I hate the thought of going away and finding her trapped when we get back.
Ever see a cat's skeleton in a tree?
