Extract

From The Blog That Ate Manhattan:

"...Thursday's lunch was a slice of pizza with potato chips and an afternoon snack of oreos and chocolate pudding, Saturday's lunch was hamburger and fries, and the most veggies I ever saw at one sitting was a measly stalk of broccoli. Despite this, I lost 30 lbs over the 11 weeks of the study, primarily because my caloric intake was only 1200 cals per day, carefully calculated based on my basal metabolic rate."

Well, she's a doc, and it was a controlled experiment, so I'm assuming they were ok.....

Let's all eat pudding. Then let's all go to sleep. Because THAT much sugar knocks me out. Does it knock YOU out?

I've heard that it's all about the caloric intake.

From an engineering perspective (not that I'm an engineer, though I did have a striped hat when I was a kid), it's simple: Intake, Activity, Output. There can be systemic reasons why the equations don't balance, but not as many as those of us who wonder why doors are so narrow would like to believe.

Oh, and, no, sugar doesn't make me sleepy. Interesting observation, though. Wonder why?
