This morning, my wife showed me some gourds that she'd picked up as Hallowe'en decorations. They're pretty oddly shaped, and different colors. I commented on that, and she replied 'My feeling was, it's going to look weird anyway. If it's going to be weird, let it be really weird.'
I told her that I think that that would be a wonderful family motto.

I love it, it would be a very good motto for my family too. Also reminds me of one of my friends who motto is "what doesn't kill me makes me stranger", I think I'll pass along your wife's line to her, she'd appreciate it.
It'd be better in Latin, I think, but I couldn't do the translation; I was doing good to read the Gallic commenaries in school, and now, my Latin abilities are down around the 'Illegitimi non carborundum' level. Though I do at least recognize ones like Ilia iacta est and such when I come across them. Well, I recognize that they're Latin, anyway!
Hope school's going well for you.
