We went out to lunch at a local TGIFridays, and, while discussing the other routine stuff, we talked about death, and whether you really do die, finito, thats it, or if you go on, somehow. My wife believes you do go on; I'm not so sure. We agreed that we both have a hard time with the concept of Hell as a place of eternal damnation -- this isn't consistant with the image of a loving God -- though we also think there should be some degree of punishment and remorse; we have a bit of a problem with people who've lived foul lives getting the same free pass into heaven as those who've lived good ones.
This was the first 'thea' conversation we've had in quite some time, and I enjoyed it.
