I spoke this evening to the fellow in Lyon with whom I've been exchanging conversations, and as part of that I spoke with his wife. She's quite fluent in English -- in fact, she has a slight British accent. We did speak a little bit in French. When I told her that I'd been studying her language for just over 18 months, her mouth dropped open. Either she was impressed , or dismayed.
I'm hoping the former. Hey, je parle francais, mais pas tres bien, y'know?
