Three times I've gone to Amazon and looked at a $12.00 baking book, which I've checked out of the local library, and which I like.
Three times I've said No, I'm not ready to spend twelve dollars on myself for a book that, having read through, I'll put on the shelf and likely not look at for several weeks.
I need to convince someone to buy it for me.

If it's worth having someone buy FOR you .... ? It's worth buying for yourself.
Just sayin'.
Well, true. But I'm a -- cheap? Frugal - type guy. Besides, theres something about being able to get it from the library. And knowing that even if I had it, I'd not reread it much. Its like a book on baking - Understanding Baking: The Art and Science of Baking - that I do have. I like it, read it carefully. But right this minute? I couldn't quote you a section from it. If I don't know THAT well enough to quote, I ought not to be getting more.
